Who we are

If you're wondering who we are, let me explain what we are:

WE ARE LOVERS OF AFRICA

We are specialists with almost two decades of experience in organizing and guiding trips through Africa, with a local perspective and adventure in comfort.

We have traveled hundreds of thousands of km through these magical lands and we want to accompany you in the planning and development of your African experience.

We are a perfect combination of Spaniards and Africans from different countries. We have been dedicated to tourism for more than 20 years and we have all been guides in our beginnings, which gives us a very realistic understanding of the destinations we now sell.

Over the years we have been able to create a network of contacts that is priceless: we have friends in all the countries in which we create itineraries, and we want our trips to provide the greatest local benefit and the least environmental impact. We look for the best suppliers, since we know them first-hand, and we also have on board in our team the invaluable presence of professionals and friends who were born and raised in the countries that now welcome us. What better way to understand a country and its idiosyncrasies?

our team

Nuria Rovira

CEO

I have a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona, but I soon realized that I wanted to live a different life, more in line with my personality. After living in Costa Rica for a few years, I decided to embark on my African adventure. I started as a guide and finally created my own agency. I have been dedicated to tourism in Africa for about 12 years and am part of the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa. I am passionate about my work, and I am very proud of the team we have created at Rumbo Africa. I am based in South Africa.

Jordi Rovira

Expert contributor in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

Jordi has a degree in journalism. He has been a guide in various African countries for over 15 years and now designs his own trips and has a DMC in Kenya, where he has raised his beautiful family. He has lived in different places in Africa and is now based in Nairobi.

He is passionate about this continent; he has great knowledge of its socio-politics, and he also likes to mix and live locally.

Lana Joubert

Guide / Specialist – Namibia.

Lana is originally from Namibia. She grew up in an farm in the Kalahari, and after studying Tourism in South Africa, she moved into a small town on the Skeleton Coast called Henties Bay.

Since she was a child, she knew that nature, fauna and going where others couldn’t go, were her thing. She has an adventurous spirit; she likes challenges, and she is a people’s person.

Like the rest of the Rumbo team, she is passionate about what she does, and she has been a guide around her beloved Namibia for more than a decade.

Deon Van Der Lith

Specialist South Africa.

Deon was born and raised in Johannesburg. For many years he dedicated himself to combating poachers in South Africa, working as an anti-poacher ranger for some of the country’s most important specialized companies. He later decided to embark on his career as a guide and travel designer and is part of the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa.

His knowledge of fauna, nature and ethology is admirable. He has a vibrant and enthusiastic personality and is passionate about what he does.
